Bring your other tools into Ask Lex. Sign your team in with Microsoft Entra. Keep your favorite clients and recent work within reach.
This release packs two big connection upgrades alongside a whole lot of everyday wins. We’ve been working through your feedback: the extra clicks, the missing shortcuts, the “why can’t I just…?” moments. Favorites, recent items, direct file uploads, better password notes, clearer archives—you’ll find your requests throughout this update.
Bring your own tools to Ask Lex
Your documentation tells part of the story. Your other tools have the rest.
Bring your own MCP connector
to let Ask Lex work with information from compatible tools alongside your Lexful knowledge. Pull in live operational context, compare it with your documentation, and work through the answer in one conversation. For example, connect Liongard and ask Lex about changes in a client’s environment, then use that context to review the relevant documentation. What Lex can do depends on the tools your connector exposes and your admin enables.
New in this release: OAuth support.
Each person can sign in to their own account for an OAuth connector, so calls use their access in the connected system. If a connection is needed during a conversation, Lex offers a Connect
prompt right there in chat.Admins configure connectors and choose their available tools in
Settings → Ask Lex → Connectors
. Existing token and header authentication remain supported.Already using Ask Lex? This is a good time to give it a bigger toolbox.
Microsoft Entra SSO is out of early access
Microsoft Entra single sign-on is now available to every Lexful account.
Set up SAML yourself in Platform → Authentication → SSO connections
, with no support activation required. There’s more here than one less password. Set the starting role and organization access for new users, then map Entra group claims to Lexful roles and groups. Choose whether those mappings apply when users are created or at every sign-in.
The refreshed
Access
screen makes those rules easier to manage. User details also show the SSO connection and claims from the latest sign-in, so admins can see what arrived and troubleshoot access with less guesswork.Put your clients first with My Organizations
Working across hundreds of organizations shouldn’t mean browsing hundreds of organizations every time.
Star the clients you work with most, then choose
My Organizations
. Your documents, passwords, assets, folders, search results, and expirations narrow to those favorites, with your existing filters still doing their job.Your favorites are personal to you. Switch back to
All Organizations
whenever you need the wider picture, or jump into one client. The organization picker also remembers your three most recent organizations
, so the client you just left is easy to get back to.Pick up where you left off
Open
Cmd+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows
and your recent work is waiting before you type a thing.Compact
Recent
cards bring back the organizations, passwords, documents, and other assets you’ve opened, grouped by type. Jump straight back into the record instead of reconstructing the search that got you there.Recent history stays in your browser and is separate for each account and user.
Files belong in Documents
Have the file already? Just upload it.
Use
Upload files
or drag files onto the Documents list. Uploaded files live alongside native Lexful documents, so you can browse and organize them together without creating a blank document first.- Preview supported files in place, including Word DOCX files, and download the original when you need it.
- Find the right formatwith Document type, File type, and Filename filters.
- Bring file contents into search and Ask Lexwhen a supported file is enabled for Knowledge and indexing has completed.
Ask Lex gets a glow-up
More room for the conversation. Less work finding the one you want.
- A cleaner history experience.Use the compact conversation picker in a narrow panel or the history rail when there’s room. Search conversations by title, delete individual chats, or clear your history with confirmation.
- Keep the record beside the conversation.Ask Lex can work alongside an open asset drawer with that record as context.
- Know which chat you’re in.New conversation titles appear in the header as the conversation gets going.
You asked for fewer clicks
These are the small changes you’ll use all day.
- Password quick views from documents.Open a linked password in a popover without losing your place in the document.
- Copy the password, see the code.Copying a password from its quick view or record details reveals its configured one-time code. Your clipboard keeps the password until you choose to copy the code.
- Password notes with breathing room.Press Enter for another line. Notes grow as you type and keep their line breaks when you read them.
- Generate a password where you need it.Secret fields offer a password generator with length and character settings. Apply the result when you’re happy with it; your preferences are remembered.
- Share the exact record.UseCopy linkfrom the record header.
- Take back some screen space.Collapse the side navigation to give your work more room.
- Clear a search in one click. The×in asset-list and organization-picker search clears the text while keeping the rest of your view intact.
Cleaner lists and more useful filters
Active / Archived / All
gives archived records their own view. Asset-type settings get the same clear choice, searchable archived types, and inline restore controls. The quick

picker and advanced filters now work together. Use Has all

, or Has none
to find exactly the combination you need.Empty asset types are easier to discover, too. Expand

types in an Assets category and add the first record directly from there. We also fixed tag pickers that could miss tags beyond the first pages of results, made ordering consistent across pages, fixed category deletion, and cleaned up upload and bulk-action error messages.
